Compatibility is a matter for partners

In a recent article, the Kölner Stadtanzeiger takes a special look at our founding couple, Jens Lönneker and Ines Imdahl. Not only do the two of them form the management team at Rheingold Salon, they are also parents to four children. In an interview with the Stadtanzeiger, they revealed how they manage to raise their children while both working full-time: "Imdahl and Lönneker alternate between short and long working days throughout the week. A long working day lasts ten hours, followed by a short six-hour day. Whoever has the short day spends the afternoon with the children from 2 p.m. onwards and is responsible for homework, playing and household chores. When Imdahl works long hours, Lönneker has a short day. The next day, they swap. Fridays alternate between short and long, so sometimes the week has 38 working hours and sometimes 42." The family has been living according to their own work-life balance model for 25 years. You can read more about how they differ from most German families and how they have not always been understood, as well as further details about their work-life balance model, here in the Kölner Stadtanzeiger or free of charge in the accompanying Instagram post.
